Two-Wheeler & Powersports
Within Bosch, the Two-Wheeler & Powersports (2WP) business unit is unique: our global headquarters is located right here in Yokohama, Japan . We pioneer active safety technologies specifically engineered for motorcycles, including Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS) such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Blind-Spot Detection (BSD), and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA).
Our team is responsible for both foundational platform software and tailor-made customer applications for leading motorcycle OEMs worldwide. We don't just write code at our desks- we test, calibrate, and experience our features directly on motorcycles at our dedicated proving ground in Nasushiobara and on real-world routes. If you combine software engineering craftsmanship with a passion for two wheels, join our team and make riding safer and more exhilarating across the globe.

What You Will Do
• Algorithm & Feature Development: Design, implement, and optimize radar-based ARAS functions using modern C/C++.
• Platform & OEM Integration: Develop scalable core platform software while adapting features to match the unique vehicle dynamics, chassis behavior, and styling constraints of global motorcycle OEMs.
• Hands-On Vehicle Testing & Calibration: Perform functional evaluations, data collection and initial calibration on test motorcycles at our Nasushiobara Proving Ground (regular trips, ~3 hours from Yokohama office) and on public roads.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with international feature development teams, system engineers, functional safety managers and application engineers throughout the V-model lifecycle.
• Tooling, Simulation & Data Analysis: Develop Python-based test pipelines, simulation environments, and measurement scripts to process and analyze radar sensor recordings from bench and track tests.
What We Offer:
• Direct Purpose & Impact: Contribute directly to life-saving motorcycle safety innovations experienced by riders around the world.
• Hands-On Engineering Culture: Direct access to dedicated development motorcycles, closed proving grounds, and advanced rider dynamics training.
• Global Exposure from Japan: Work at the worldwide headquarters of Bosch 2WP, collaborating across borders with premium international motorcycle manufacturers.
• Growth & Modern Workplace: Continuous professional training, cutting-edge development environments, competitive compensation, and flexible hybrid working arrangements.
What You Bring (Must-Haves):
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Software Development Skills: Strong proficiency in C/C++ for real-time embedded or function software development, alongside working knowledge of Python for testing, automation, and data processing.
• Domain Experience: Experience in automotive function development, particularly with environmental sensors (e.g., radar, cameras) and/or chassis control systems (ESP/ABS).
• Dynamics & Control Theory: A strong grasp of control theory, vehicle dynamics, and physics (highly beneficial for motorcycle stability and motion-related ARAS features).
• Rider Passion & License: Valid motorcycle driver's license with active riding experience, comfortable participating in closed-course and public road vehicle testing.
• Communication: Fluency in English (written and spoken) for daily collaboration across international development centers.
What Sets You Apart (Nice-to-Haves):
• Language Skills: Professional working proficiency in Japanese (spoken and technical written) to interface directly with domestic OEM partners and local stakeholders.
• Systems & Safety Engineering: Practical exposure to ISO 26262 functional safety, ASPICE, and requirement management systems (e.g., IBM DOORS, Codebeamer).
• Machine Learning & AI: Experience applying neural networks or machine learning techniques to sensor data processing or trajectory estimation.
• Automotive Tooling: Familiarity with Vector tools (CANoe, CANape), Git version control, and modern CI/CD software pipelines.
