In this role, you will have the opportunity to analyze geotechnical engineering problems, and assist in preparation of geotechnical engineering reports on large-scale and high-profile projects.</span></p> </div> </div> <p></p> <h2>Job Responsibilities</h2> <p></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Assist with the planning and execution of field investigations, including logging borings and test pits, collecting samples, performing field tests, and collecting and recording data;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Observe foundation and earthwork construction activities; monitors conformance with the construction documents;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Identify and implement solutions to both routine and complex field and/or laboratory problems;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prepare standard logs and field forms, including drilling and test pit logs, field investigation dailies, and chain of custody logs;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Conduct file reviews, site reconnaissance, and document searches;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Accurately document and communicate with supervisor on any problems encountered on project sites; and</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Perform other duties as requested.</span></li> </ul> <p></p> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <p></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required; Master’s degree with Geotechnical specialty or desire to pursue is preferred;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">0-2 years of work-related experience;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prior relevant internship or professional work experience preferred;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Eligibility and motivation to work towards Chartership;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong technical education, professional demeanor, and desire to learn;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Excellent written and verbal communication skills;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Willingness to spend the majority of work hours in the field;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation access to remote job site locations;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Availability to work overtime as needed.</span></li> </ul> <p></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;" data-teams="true">Langan provides a rich array of programs and benefits to help its employees advance their careers and enhance the quality of their lives.
