We develop and deploy raw material market expertise, tools, methods, and governance. These enable the Volvo Group to secure and enhance its raw material-related performance and thus provide a competitive advantage to its brands. Our team is globally spread across Asia, Europe and the Americas and is considered a center of excellence on raw material (commodity) markets. As part of our scope today, we cover various materials like flat steel, ferrous castings, forging steel, base metals, precious metals, plastics, rubber, battery materials, energy etc. Our expertise is used to support and ensure Volvo Group’s competitiveness and eventually our customers’ success. Working together in a global team is a great opportunity for some interesting cross-cultural experiences. What you will do ? Now, we have an opening and are looking for a person to join our team of commodity market analysts for battery materials & base metals. This position is to be the knowledge center on the raw material market for battery materials and base metals across our major geographies i.e., Europe & Americas primarily but also Asia. As part of the job, you will consolidate and use all internal and external business intelligence available to understand the position/influence of different related factors in the commodity market. Based on identified, reliable business intelligence you will provide periodic market forecasts. You will on a regular basis support buyers in negotiation, participate in cost workshops, supply chain activities, and provide contractual guidance to the Volvo Group Purchasing organization. Keeping sustainability in perspective on these commodities, is key. You will contribute as needed to the segment strategies within Trucks Technology and Industrial and you will work closely with the Purchasing team. In this position you will be part of the raw material business controlling team and report to the head of raw material. Who are you ? To be successful in your new role it’d be helpful if you had the following knowledge/experience: University/Master’s degree in science, engineering, economics or finance Analytical & critical thinking Ability to work efficiently independently as well as in a team Commodity market knowledge/experience in battery materials/base metals Are we a perfect match?
