Senior SEO & GEO Specialist

Headquarters: New York URL: https://manaferra.com/ Position overview Manaferra is seeking a Senior SEO & GEO Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategy and performance of university accounts, including auditing, defining the strategic direction, overseeing delivery, and reporting results to clients. This is a strategy and ownership position. The Senior SEO & GEO Specialist serves as the strategic lead on each account and the primary authority on what is being done and why. Key responsibilities • Audit and strategy development. Conduct comprehensive SEO and AI-visibility audits for new and existing accounts, and translate findings into prioritized strategies spanning technical SEO, on-page and program-page optimization, content, link building, and visibility within large language models. • Execution oversight. Review deliverables and ensure the strategy is implemented as designed and on schedule. The role carries accountability for account results, not only for the strategic plan. • Performance management. Monitor performance across organic search and AI platforms, identify trends and gaps, and adjust the strategy proactively. • Client presentation. Participate in biweekly or monthly client calls together with the account manager; present work completed, results achieved, and the direction for the following period; and respond to client questions with authority. • GEO practice development. Contribute to the evolution of Manaferra's methodology for tracking, influencing, and reporting on visibility in AI search. Qualifications Required • A minimum of 3 years of SEO experience in an agency environment, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple accounts and competing priorities. • Hands-on experience in GEO / AI search, including work aimed at securing citations and recommendations in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, or comparable platforms, and a clear understanding of how this differs from traditional SEO. • Strong strategic and analytical judgment, with the ability to assess a website, its competitive landscape, and available data, and to define and defend priorities. • Excellent written and spoken English, with confidence presenting strategy and results to US-based university marketing teams. • Proven ability to direct the work of colleagues outside a direct reporting line through clear briefs, structured review, and precise feedback. • Availability for client calls held during US business hours • Proficiency with Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, and GA4 • Familiarity with AI visibility tracking tools such as LLMPulse, Profound, Peec AI, or similar • Experience with Looker Studio or comparable reporting and dashboard tools • Basic automation skills (Google Sheets, Python, or similar) What we offer • Fully remote, part-time employment with flexible working hours • Ownership of a portfolio of accounts and meaningful influence over how the agency operates • A dedicated specialist team executing your strategy, allowing you to focus on direction and results • Direct involvement in one of the fastest-developing areas of search: AI visibility for higher education Application process Please submit the following: • Your CV • One or two sample SEO or GEO audits and strategies you have produced (anonymized versions are acceptable) • A portfolio or summary of accounts you have worked on and the results achieved (anonymized versions are acceptable) Applications should be sent to careers@manaferra.com To apply: https://weworkremotely.com/remote-jobs/manaferra-senior-seo-geo-specialist
