Job Summary:
The Subcontracts Specialist oversees the drafting, review, negotiation, and administration of contracts for goods, services, and complex project agreements. This role ensures all contracts comply with legal requirements, company policies, and best practices, serving as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, suppliers, and clients. The Contracts Specialist helps protect the company's interests and drives successful project outcomes.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. #LI-RG1
Major Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, negotiate and administer a variety of contracts and subcontracts, including commercial agreements, NDAs, service contracts, and project-specific agreements
• Lead or support contract and subcontract negotiations to secure favorable terms, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with legal requirements, company policies, and best practices
• Manage the full contract and subcontract lifecycle from initiation through execution, amendments, renewals, and closeout, maintaining accurate and up-to-date contract records and documentation
• Implement and maintain the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule and Standard Work Process Procedures applicable to contract and subcontract management
• Prepare, issue, and evaluate bid request packages, including pre-qualification of bidders, coordination of bidder questions, receipt and commercial evaluation of bids, and preparation of Commercial Bid Summaries and recommendations
• Develop, issue, and execute subcontracts and services agreements, ensuring all approvals are secured in accordance with established procedures
• Coordinate and conduct meetings (pre-bid, bid clarification, pre-award) to ensure complete understanding and agreement on all contractual matters, preparing and issuing meeting notes with required actions and schedules
• Monitor contract and subcontract performance, track deliverables and milestones, and address compliance issues or disputes in coordination with legal, procurement, and project management teams
• Provide guidance and clarification on contract and subcontract terms and conditions to project managers and staff, and support the development and implementation of contract management policies and procedures
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies to address contractual and business risks
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Legal, Accounting) and external parties (suppliers, contractors, clients) to resolve issues and drive successful project outcomes
• Manage moderately complex contract changes, negotiate with customer personnel, and obtain settlements as required
• Support continual progress review, forecasting, and communication of potential financial or technical difficulties to management
• Works with Digital Supply Chain and other Automation Tools
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• 8-10+ years of relevant experience in contract management, administration, or a related function, preferably on large-scale EPC projects
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement regulations, and best practices in contract administration
• Knowledge and proficiency in the formation and award of contract agreements, including types, terms, general commercial and legal requirements
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate with other project functional groups such as Engine
