Account Executive resume example

An account executive resume is judged almost entirely on three numbers: ARR closed, quota percentage, and win rate. Everything else on the page is context for those three.

This example puts quota attainment in the summary and the first bullet of every role, then uses deal size and pipeline coverage to show the performance was structural, not a single lucky quarter.

What recruiters look for

  • ARR closed against quota, stated plainly.
  • Deal size and how it changed over time.
  • A named sales methodology (MEDDIC, Sandler, Challenger).
  • Win rate or pipeline coverage ratio.
  • Evidence of full-cycle ownership, not just closing handed-off deals.

Before & after: one bullet

Weak

Exceeded sales targets by closing new business deals throughout the year.

Strong

Closed $1.4M in new ARR in 2025, 140% of a $1M quota, while growing average deal size 64%.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Reporting bookings without stating quota, so attainment is unclear.
  • No mention of deal size or segment (SMB vs. mid-market vs. enterprise).
  • Skipping the sales methodology recruiters screen for.
  • Vague 'exceeded targets' with no percentage.
